School activities

The museum of Foteviken with the Viking reserve and the Medieval Cogs have long experience of working with children and youth. These places offer exciting possibilities in your teachings.

At the Cog museum in Malmö harbour is “Malmöya”, a medieval realm. The history here revolves around two cog replicas in full scale. These impressive wooden ships are one of the most significant symbols of Malmö’s important medieval history. The Germans, when they created the trade union Hansa in the 1100s, introduced the cog ships to the Baltic Sea.

At the Cog museum the pupils can visit the exhibition, but also embark upon a replica of the world’s biggest cog. One of our guides is of course also present at this historical visit.

In the Viking reserve of Foteviken, in Höllviken, you can visit the exciting history of Vikings as it were 900 years ago. Here you will find the world’s only attempt to reconstruct a smaller Viking town. The school class’ visit will also be an educating trip in our historical surroundings.

You are welcome to choose whatever alternative suits you best!
